Eco Rewards™ and You

Here at Windmill, we’re taking a multifaceted approach towards environmental sustainability. That’s why we use the least harmful refrigerant available, why we participate in a carbon offset program, and why we’re launching a recycling program for old AC units. We know Windmill owners are also passionate about environmental sustainability, which is why we’re delighted to announce our first-of-its-kind program for our qualifying New York customers, Eco Rewards™.

Eco Rewards™ is a demand response program, so let’s break down what that means. During times of peak energy demand, like heat waves, power grids are forced to call upon more expensive and dirtier sources of power. By decreasing your energy usage during those demand surges, you help keep those polluting plants offline.

Eco Rewards™ works by tweaking the thermostat on your Windmill AC and increasing the temperature by just a few degrees. You get an alert before each Eco Rewards™ Event, so you know that you’re helping keep those polluter plants offline. In addition to helping the environment, you get paid for participating in Eco Rewards™ Events! So you can make money while you make a difference with the environment.

We anticipate there will be on average four Eco Rewards™ Events each summer, and they won’t last longer than four hours. Of course, you can always choose to opt out of an Eco Rewards™ Event. But remember, by participating in more events, you’re doing more for the planet.
